Lovely greeting



"Pendet is a traditional dance from Bali, Indonesia, in which offerings are made to purify the temple or theater as a prelude to ceremonies or other dances. Pendet can be thought of as a dance of greeting, to welcome the audience and invite spirits to enjoy a performance."

This beautiful dance originated from Indonesia, and it is said that the choreography of this dance was made by Balinese, I Wayan Rindi (passed away on 1967). This dance is a traditional welcoming dance and also related with religion, mainly Balinese Hindu.

Indonesia has so many traditional dance that scattered in every province, but Pendet Dance is the famous one because it is always performed to greet and welcoming tourists or foreigners. Pendet Dance is also performable by everyone, man and woman, kids and adults, but it is performed mainly by young adults.
